Cookie Policy

Last updated: 13 May 2026

This site is deliberately light on tracking. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no fingerprinting scripts. This page explains what is stored in your browser, by whom, and how to clear it.

What we mean by "cookies"

For clarity, the same rules apply to anything that stores data in your browser — traditional cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, and IndexedDB. This policy covers all of them.

What this site sets itself

Daveden Digital Ltd sets first-party items only when a feature genuinely needs them. None of them identify you or leave your browser.

  • theme (localStorage) — stores your preference for light or dark mode so the right theme is applied on your next visit. It never leaves your browser and contains no identifier. It is essential for the feature; without it, the toggle has nothing to remember.
  • Able Player preferences (cookies) — on course module pages with a video, our accessible player (Able Player, served from this site, not a third party) may store your playback preferences such as volume, captions on/off, transcript visibility, and playback speed. These are remembered the next time you watch any video on this site. They contain no identifier and are not shared with anyone.

We do not set any first-party tracking cookies, session cookies, or analytics identifiers.

Cookies set by third parties

Some features rely on third-party services. These services may set their own cookies, only when you load or interact with the feature in question:

  • Cloudflare Turnstile — used on the contact form to check that you are a real visitor. Turnstile sets short-lived tokens needed for the bot check; it does not track you across sites. See Cloudflare's cookie policy.
  • YouTube — when an embedded YouTube video plays, YouTube may set cookies on YouTube's own domain to remember playback state and (depending on your account) personalise recommendations. The Able Player wrapper around those embeds runs entirely on this site, but the underlying video stream is still YouTube's. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed where supported. See Google's cookie policy.
  • MailerLite — if you click through to the subscription confirmation page, MailerLite may set cookies on their domain. They do not set cookies on daveden.co.uk. See MailerLite's cookie policy.

Why there is no cookie banner

UK and EU rules require consent for non-essential cookies. Because we set no non-essential cookies on this site, a banner would have nothing meaningful to ask. If we ever add analytics or anything else that needs consent, we will add a banner first and update this page.

Your choices

You stay in full control:

  • Clear our first-party items: use your browser's "Clear site data" tool for daveden.co.uk. The theme reverts to your operating-system preference and Able Player reverts to its defaults on your next visit.
  • Block third-party cookies entirely: most browsers offer this as a single setting. The site itself will keep working; some embedded video features may degrade.
  • Use private/incognito mode: nothing is persisted between sessions.
